Penstemon ‘Blackbeard’
Plant number: 1.405.190Beard-tongues are native North American wildflowers, available in a surprising range of colours, heights and textures. This selection was developed by Walters Gardens, Inc. and chosen for its dark foliage and cold hardiness. Plants form a low clump of deep eggplant foliage, with upright spikes appearing in early summer. The tubular flowers are lilac purple with a white centre, attractive in the border and useful for cutting. Dark burgundy seed pods follow the flowering period providing continued seasonal interest. An excellent low-maintenance perennial, especially for hot, dry sites. Attractive to both butterflies and hummingbirds. USPPP: unlicensed propagation prohibited. Further details for |
