Carex berggrenii
Bronze Creeping Sedge |
USDA Zone: 6-9 |
Plant number: 8.090.230
Native to New Zealand, this low-growing plant forms a tufted clump of coppery-bronze leaves, remaining evergreen. Flowers are insignificant. Makes a most unusual edging or rock garden plant, especially nice in alpine troughs or containers. Loves a moist site, and perfectly at home beside a small pond or stream. Plants will slowly creep to form a clump, and this may be easily divided in the spring. Colour is reported to be the most intense when grown in full sun.
