Stachys ‘Bello Grigio’
Lamb′s-ears |
USDA Zone: 7-9 |
Plant number: 1.495.030
(=‘Mighty Velvet’) Lamb’s-Ears are one of the most popular silver-leaved perennials, used widely for edging along pathways and borders. This new selection from The Netherlands although sold as an annual is treated as a perennial in Zones 7-9, especially in a Mediterranean-type climate. It features long narrow leaves that are covered with soft white hairs, adding to the silvery-white effect; no green showing at all. New leaves begin upright but over time arch outward creating a fountain effect. Large, yellow flowers may appear in the south on long stems. Drought tolerant once established.
