Carex siderosticha ‘Lemon Zest’
Broad-leaved Sedge |
USDA Zone: 5-9 |
Plant number: 8.090.570
Broad-leaved Sedge is one of the most useful edging plants for shady gardens. This selection forms a low mound of wide, grassy looking lemon-peel yellow leaves that absolutely glow! The appearance is almost like a dwarf Hosta. Greenish flowers appear in spring but are fairly insignificant. Versatile in the garden, also excellent in mixed containers. Prefers a soil that remains evenly moist. Foliage dies back over the winter. Best colour forms in bright shade or morning sun. Protect from scorching afternoon sun. Introduced by Terra Nova Nurseries of Oregon, found as a sport of ‘Banana Boat'. USPP#14463: unlicensed propagation prohibited. Registered with COPF.
